Do I need a copy of my prescription to order contact lenses?
No. You do not need a copy of your contact lens prescription in order to place an order with us. You need only to provide us with your eye doctor’s name and contact info, and we’ll handle the prescription verification for you. If you do have a copy of your prescription, we can use this to satisfy verification of your prescription (our system will prompt you to email us a picture of your prescription, or you can fax it to us as well). For your information, Federal Law now requires your eye care provider to release a copy of your prescriptions. Make sure to get a copy of your contact lens prescription, as it belongs to you. Again, having this in your possession is not required to place an order with us, but it’s something that is owed to you once you complete an eye examination, so that you can choose where to purchase your contacts.
If you need to renew your contact lens prescription, Lens.com offers an easy online vision test that allows you to skip the trip to the doctor's office and conduct the test from comfort of your home.
